James Thomas CHILDRESS was born in Alabama in 1847.
He married Sara Elizabeth FARGASON who had been born in Georgia about 1850.
His obituary indicates he was the father of 10 children, though names
are known for only 8 of them. Only 5 of his children survived him.
He served 2 years in the Confederate Army during the Civil War.
He eventually moved his family to Texas, living in Franklin Co. in 1880,
Collin Co. in 1900 & Panola Co. in 1910. James & Sara's known children are:
